HEALTHCARE DISTRICT BOARD IN TWO MEETINGS LAST NIGHT

Morongo Basin Healthcare District board members Misty Evans, Marge Doyle, Bob Armstrong, Dianne Markle-Greenhouse, and Joseph Sullivan listen to an update about the district’s budget.

The first of the two meetings for the Healthcare District Board of Directors was for the Hi-Desert Memorial Healthcare Foundation. Director of Business Development Joe Ruddon offered various fund-raising ideas that could be used, allowing the Foundation take an active role to champion District projects like the Lyft Transportation program so that it can expand its reach to the lower desert. The second meeting was a budget workshop. Controller Debbie Anderson presented a detailed draft operations budget for 2020. The total operating expense for FY 2020 will $10,307,098, up from the projected current year by $352,045.
