HEALTHCARE DISTRICT BOARD GETS ASSOCIATION REPORT AT LAST NIGHT’S MEETING

At last night’s meeting of the Morongo Basin Healthcare District, take-aways from directors who had attended the Association of California Healthcare District conference in La Jolla included the importance of needs assessment evaluations, consideration of a move to district voting, and the value of involvement in such professional organizations; directors noted that board members currently serve on all ACHD committees.

CEO Jackie Combs reported the decision to delay services at Split Rock Health Clinic until after the holidays was made to avoid customer confusion. Activities of the Mobile Medical Unit, LIFT and other outreach programs continue to grow. Of note was a year-end community appeal supporting the LIFT program has already generated $1,200.

The board also easily approved the 2019 financial audit and the finance report praising the work done this year by the Board, community and staff.  The meeting concluded with a closed session on “trade secrets.”
