HEALTHCARE DISTRICT APPROVES BUDGET, SEES RISE IN TELE-HEALTH

Thursday night’s meeting of the Morongo Basin Healthcare District Board of Directors had a packed agenda. Reporter Cassidy Zimarik has the summary…

The Morongo Basin Healthcare District Board of Directors met in regular session Thursday night to approve the fiscal year 2021 district operating budget, revisions to the procurement policy to match federal rules and regulations, and the resolution for the Feeding the Morongo Basin Project.

The Board of Directors reviewed the finance report which thanks government stimulus grants for helping remove some financial pressure during a time where the healthcare district is seeing far fewer patients.

The district board report highlighted new policies and equipment in clinics to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses as well as reported positive numbers and feedback with their use of tele-health to serve patients. Behavioral health providers are seeing more volume than normal and fewer “no shows.”
