HICAP, the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program, will be holding Medicare Annual Enrollment Clinics at the 29 Palms Senior Center, 6539 Adobe Rd, on Friday November 1, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The enrolment clinics are designed to help senior and disabled residents go over Medicare and Medicare Advantage Plans, review current medications and upcoming changes in formularies, and answer questions on current plans and changes. The Enrollment Clinic will be held by appointment only, so that each individual gets personalized attention. A program of The Council on Aging, HICAP offers unbiased individualized counseling, community outreach, and public education about Medicare and other related health insurance topics. HICAP counselors are state-registered staff and volunteers, trained to answer your health insurance questions free of charge. A counselor will be available to help individuals understand benefits and enrollment; prescription drug plan coverage; Medicare advantage plans; Supplemental policies (Medigap); Employee and retiree coverage; Affordable Care Act; Medicare limited income assistance programs; long term care insurance as well as provide legal assistance with Medicare appeals and administrative hearings.
