Before the reports and presentations, the Board approved Board President Bob Armstrong’s request that the update on HDMC holdings be move to a closed session after the next regular meeting. Julie Fontana with the MUSD showed that with the help of the District, they were able to reduce DTAP noncompliance in seventh graders by 19 percent; 25 students weren’t able to start seventh grade this school year, compared to 32 last year. Director of Business Operations Joe Ruddon stated that starting in April, more classes will be held at the Helen Gray Center and that the Flying Doctor will be back April 13 at the Bell Center to provide both optical and dental care for those in need.
