The Morongo Basin Healthcare District Board of directors met with a full agenda last night. The first report of the evening was an update on quality and provider coverage plans. The hospital received the joint commission 3-year gold status accreditation. Plans are in the works to provide outpatient colonoscopes and to add speech therapy, mammogram with extended hours, and behavioral health to outpatient services. Joe Ruddon reported that during 2017, LIFT transportation services made 9,304 one-way trips, averaging 200 trips per week. They have streamlined the scheduling process to accommodate the increase in patient participation.
