HEALTH CARE DISTRICT BOARD LOOKS AT STRATEGIC PLAN

Updates on the Morongo Basin Healthcare District’s strategic plan took front and center at the regular meeting of the Healthcare District Board last night. Reporter Ernest Figueroa attended and has the details…

In a multi-faceted power point presentation, CEO Jackie Combs provided to the board a detailed overview of the district’s strategic plan detailing the effectiveness of each of four target strategies: transportation, access, education and collaboration. Transportation efforts expect a likely boost from a Cal-Trans mobility grant that scored in the 97 percentile. The Mobile Medical Unit remains the jewel in the crown of access efforts. Education to the community remains the most challenging and new strategies will be explored. Finally, collaborative efforts—such as with MUSD and MBTA—show great promise though broadband throughout the basin continues to be challenge. The monthly financial report was also reviewed before the meeting concluded in closed session on “trade secrets.”
