HEAD-ON CRASH IN JOHNSON VALLEY SENDS ONE TO HOSPITAL

A head-on crash in Johnson Valley this morning sent one man to the hospital. According to County Fire Battalion Chief Scott Tuttle, a box truck and a Dodge pick-up truck collided on State Route 247 near Pony Road at 6:10 a.m. The driver of the pick-up truck was trapped inside his vehicle and firefighters needed to use the Jaws of Life to free him. He suffered moderate injuries and was taken by Morongo Basin Ambulance to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. The driver of the box truck was uninjured.
