The county will host a free hazardous materials drop-off in Joshua tree tomorrow for residents of the entire Morongo Basin. Reporter David Knutson tells you what to get rid of and where…
What do you do with those old batteries, used motor oil, leftover paint, antifreeze, fluorescent light bulbs, household cleaners and pesticides? You can’t throw them in the trash to end up in our landfills as these items contain components that are hazardous. Every third Saturday, including tomorrow, the county holds a free hazardous waste recycling event, from 9 to 1 in Joshua Tree. For electronic recycling, call Burrtec at 760-365-2015. The county hazardous waste disposal site is located at 62499 29 Palms Highway, just east of Pioneer Feed. For more information, call 800-OILY-CAT.
