Harrison House in Joshua Tree is hosting a Tuvan Shamanism Ceremony featuring traditional throatsinging.
Chingiz Kam, who is the Brown Bear Shaman of Tuva (Siberia) and Throatsinger, Arrington de Dionyso will share an indigenous Tuvan ceremony at Lou Harrison House. Chingiz Kam is a hereditary shaman and the first of his lineage to travel to the West Coast of the United States. His music and rituals are considered healing. Today (January 23), Kam and de Dionyso will appear at local schools to share their performance with students.
Their public event is tomorrow (January 24) at 7 p.m. at the Harrison House, located at 6881 Lassen Ave in Joshua Tree.
