The Hi-Desert Nature Museum and the Town of Yucca Valley will host a Halloween Spooktacular at the Yucca Valley Community Center Saturday, October 27, from noon to 4 p.m. Participants of all ages are invited for a day of Halloween-themed games and activities. Dress in costume or come as you are and enjoy frightfully fun activities including a haunted house, photo booth, trick-or-treating, face painting, an inflatable obstacle course, crafts, and other Halloween-themed games and activities. Enter the costume contest, which will be divided into four age divisions: 0-3; 4-7; 8-11; and 12+. Awards will be presented for the winners in best-in-show, scariest, funniest, and most original in the categories for children 11 and under. No gory or inappropriate costumes, please. Registration for the costume contest will be held in the Yucca Room from noon to 2:45 p.m. and the contest starts at 3 p.m. All activities are free to the public.
