The Beauty Bubble in downtown Joshua Tree is not only a hair salon, but one of the country’s largest museums celebrating hair and the beauty industry. The owner of the Beauty Bubble is one of two featured artists in a “hair-sterical” art show showcasing fashions in hairstyles. Managing editor Tami Roleff is ready for a new hairstyle…
It’s sure to be “hair-sterical”: an art show featuring hair-do sculptures by Jeff Hafler, owner of Joshua Tree’s Beauty Bubble salon and museum, and paintings of the hair-dos by Jane E. Herrold. Contributing artists in the show include Christie Carnes, David Greene, Lorelei Greene, Emily Hunter, Zach Kilian, Jane Maru, Kate McCabe, Karen Skiba, Nikki Virbitsky, and Mikal Winn. The show will be on display at La Matadora through June 2.
An opening reception art party is set for Saturday, May 11, from 6 to 9 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear “big hair” or wigs. La Matadora is located right next to the Beauty Bubble, on the highway in downtown Joshua Tree.
