GUN FIRED TO STOP DOG FIGHT IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

Deputies were called to a home in Twentynine Palms Wednesday afternoon when a resident fired a gun to stop a dog fight. According to a Sheriff’s report, dogs in the 6400 block of Mesquite Avenue started fighting just before 1 p.m. Witnesses said a man came to the back fence and fired into the air three to four shots from a pistol, and then ran off on Palo Verde Avenue. None of the involved parties wished to provide contact information to responding deputies. Animal control responded to the scene and released the dogs to the owner.
