GRUBSTAKE DAYS PARADE WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The Yucca Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners for Saturday’s Grubstake Days parade entries. Taking first place for most humorous were the Phoenix Scouts, a local youth group for boys and girls. First place for best use of color went to Genuine Spirit Cheer and Dance Troop, cheerleaders and dancers from the Low Desert. The award for the best use of the Grubstake Days theme went to the entry from Joshua Tree National Park. Laughing Horse Ranch, with its rescued mini horses dressed up as unicorns, received the award for best costumes. And finally, the award for best of the parade went to Elite Cosmetology School. The students paid homage to the birds and animals with whom we share our desert. Congratulations to all the winners.
