This weekend is Grubstake Days in Yucca Valley, and along with the carnival and rodeo, there will be a parade on Highway 62 Saturday morning. The highway will be closed in both directions from 9:30 a.m. to about 11:30 a.m. between Inca Trail and Sage Avenue. Drivers will be directed to detours around the parade. The parade starts at 10 a.m. at Inca Trail and Highway 62 and travels east to Sage Avenue.
In addition to the Highway 62 road closure, Caltrans expects lengthy delays on Interstate 15 from Temecula to Las Vegas, Interstate 10 from Beaumont
to Indio, I-40 from Barstow to Needles, and heavier traffic than usual on Highways 91, 60, 215, and 210, through Monday. Motorists are urged to travel in the early morning hours if possible.
