It is May, time to plan for this year’s Grubstake Days celebration, co-sponsored by Z107.7, coming up May 25-28. Teams are being sought for the Tug of War and horseshoe contests. A longtime Grubstake Days tradition. Organizers say tug-o-war teams will have a 1,500-pound weight limit. The entry fee is $100 per team. Deadline to sign up is May 10. The registration fee for the horseshoe tournament is $20 per team; sign up in advance or on the day of the tournament. Awards will be given to the first- and second-place teams. The events will be held Saturday, May 26, on the carnival grounds at Highway 62 and Hilton. Finals will be held Sunday, May 27.
