GRUBSTAKE DAYS GOING ON NOW IN YUCCA VALLEY

Grubstake Days in Yucca Valley is going on now through Monday. Events include a pancake breakfast this morning at the Yucca Valley Elks Lodge; a Pony Express ride in Pioneertown at noon; and a rodeo this afternoon and tonight. On the carnival grounds will be a beard contest, a tug-of-war contest, a horseshoe tournament and, of course, the carnival. Sunday is a 10K/5K race and 2K walk at the Yucca Valley High School, and the Little Miss and Mister Miner competition at the Boys and Girls Club. Monday is Kids’ Day with lots of activities for the kids at the Boys and Girls Club. Rebecca Havely has more information about the carnival…

The Carnival is coming to town for Grubstake Days. Hours are Saturday and Sundayfrom noon till 10 p.m. and Monday from noon till 8 p.m. The carnival grounds are located at Highway 62 and Hilton Road in Yucca Valley.
