Grubstake Days 2019 is around the corner and the Grubstake Days Carnival Committee has been hard at work on the carnival, tug-of-war, horseshoe tournament, beard contest, and buttons. This year, the buttons will not be buttons at all, but instead will be magnets to hang on your refrigerator.
The artwork for the new magnets was submitted by Linda Deneher, a 38-year resident of Twentynine Palms. The photograph of the gold miner was taken by Wilhelm Hester around 1898. The Grubstake Carnival Committee is an affiliate of the Basin Wide Foundation, a local non-profit that improves the quality of life and economic vitality in the Morongo Basin.
