GRAND THEFT ARREST AT WALMART WHEN GETAWAY TRUCK WON’T START

A stolen get-away truck that didn’t start helped deputies arrest a Tujunga man accused of shoplifting more than $1400 worth of merchandise from Walmart Thursday. According to a Sheriff’s report, Julian Sarkissian, 29, went to the Yucca Valley Walmart about 1 p.m. Thursday and put $1,475 worth of merchandise into a cart. A Walmart employee became suspicious and followed Sarkissian. When Sarkissian brought the cart and merchandise out to his Nissan Frontier pick-up truck, the employee called deputies. Sarkissian was not able to get the truck to start and deputies located him in the parking lot. A records check found that the truck had been reported stolen. Julian Sarkissian was arrested for investigation of felony grand theft, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
