GRAFFITI SPREADS OUTSIDE NATIONAL PARK

In more verdant areas, some people memorialize their infatuations by savaging trees with hearts and initials.  Here, they paint on rocks.  Local social media has been abuzz with depredations outside of the National Park, on private property in Joshua Tree.  A sheriff’s deputy who responded to the complaint of a resident about vandalism near her property, told her that police can’t do much, and depend upon the citizenry for information. Donations are being accepted at Coyote Corner, at the corner of Highway 62 and Park Boulevard, to buy materials for a cleanup effort.
