Girl Scout Troop 947 Brownie members Kristal James, Lucille Demerle, Kaylin Graham, and Alaynah Rios have spent many months creating a summer book club, and brushing up on their public speaking skills, for the residents of the Sky View Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Yucca Valley. The Brownies hope that the program will provide improved recreation and leisure activities for residents of the home. The Brownies will be reading, and leading a discussion on, Edgar Allen Poe’s “Fall of the House of Usher.” The first reading will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19.
