Yucca Valley’s new wastewater treatment facility is scheduled to be up and running this summer. Managing editor Tami Roleff says residents will be getting notices in the mail about connecting to the sewer system…
With the first Yucca Valley residents scheduled to connect to the sewer system in June, the Hi-Desert Water District will soon be sending notices to residents about what they need to do to disconnect their septic tanks and connect their homes to the new sewer. Residents will get notices six months, three months, two months, and 10 days in advance of their proposed connection. The first areas to connect are Western Hills Ranchos, Yucca Corral Acres, and the Monterey Business Center. Residents will be responsible for contacting a plumbing contractor who will develop a plan for how each individual home will connect to the sewer’s pipe, signing the contract to complete the connection, and paying for the connection. The water district says homeowners should allow four weeks for the contract and connection process.
