You can get a sneak peak of the fifth annual Joshua Tree National Park Art Exposition this weekend when the 29 Palms Art Gallery holds a soft opening. The juried exhibition of art from 63 local, national, and international artists will be on display at the art gallery 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning September 1. The exhibition theme is art depicting or inspired by Joshua Tree National Park; art will remain on display through October 1. Regular gallery hours are 11 to 3 Thursday through Sunday. The gala opening reception and awards ceremony is set for 5 p.m. Saturday, September 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. A variety of events will be held Saturday and Sunday, September 16 and 17, from 10 to 4 at the art gallery, the 29 Palms Inn, the 29 Palms Creative Center, the Old Schoolhouse Museum, and the park’s Oasis Visitor’s Center.
