One of the best meteor showers of the year is just a few days away. Reporter Andrew Dieleman tells you when and how to see it…
Desert residents will be able to see one of the best meteor showers of the year on Wednesday and Thursday night. The Geminids are considered one of the best meteor showers every year because the individual meteors are bright and numerous. At its peak, as many as 120 meteors per hour can be seen streaming across the sky. The Geminids, as their name implies, appear to emanate from the bright constellation Gemini, which is up, and to the right of, the constellation Orion. The best viewing times will be on December 13 and 14 at about 2 a.m., ideally in a dark-sky area.
