Look, up in the sky! No, really, look up in the sky. Managing editor Tami Roleff says the Geminid meteor shower will peak this weekend…
Star gazers will have a treat in store this weekend as the Geminid meteor showers make their appearance again. The Geminid meteor showers will peak Sunday, December 13, into the early morning hours of Monday, December 14, and again Monday night into early Tuesday morning, December 15. The showers appear to emanate from the constellation Gemini, which is located above and to the left of the Orion Constellation. The meteor showers could deliver up to 120 shooting stars per hour at their peak about 2 a.m. They are some of the brightest meteors you’ll see all year long, and viewing conditions are expected to be almost ideal, with a waxing crescent moon that sets in the early evening.
