The Art Queen complex in Joshua Tree will be the site of a month-long celebration in June for Gay Pride month. The events will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. Throughout the month of June; there will be several film, art, dance, fashion, and music events; all free of charge. A soft opening at the Art Queen East Village Gallery will be the first event, starting at 6 p.m. June 1, followed by a lecture by Jack Bohkla, who will discuss his photodocumentary project at 7:30 p.m. At 8 p.m., Up to Mischief Theatrics will present a staged reading of Jane Chamber’s comedy, “My Blue Heaven.”
All events will be held at the Art Queen East Village Gallery, the Art Queen Stage, and the Up to Mischief Theatre, behind the Sun Alley Shops, in downtown Joshua Tree. A complete event schedule is provided below.

7:30pm: PHOTO TALK JACK BOHKLA / TRANSPROJECTLA discusses images from his photodocumentary project. 8-10pm: UP TO MISCHIEF THEATRICS presents a staged reading of Jane Chamber’s comedy MY BLUE HEAVEN.
