The Morongo Basin Cultural Arts Council opened its new art gallery in Joshua Tree Friday, and will hold an opening reception tonight, Saturday during the Joshua Tree Second Saturday Art Crawl. Gallery 62’s first exhibit will feature the works of seven artists: Paul and Kathy Klopfenstein, with their 3-dimensional artworks; Paul Morehead’s photography; Sal Sinare with his primitive metal sculptures; and the contemporary abstract paintings of James O’Keefe, Jason Graves, and Lenne Rosen-Kabe. Gallery 62, located at 61871 29 Palms Highway, next to Art Queen, will be open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11 to 5. During the Second Saturday Art Crawl April 12, the gallery will be open 6 to 8 p.m. The gallery is funded by the MBCAC’s exhibits program.
