A funeral service will be held for Sheriff’s Sergeant Dominic Vaca on Friday, June 11 at 10:00 am. Sgt. Vaca’s service will be held at the Glen Helen Amphitheater, 2575 Glen Helen Parkway, in San Bernardino. The service is not open to the public, but will be live streamed at the link below. The Sheriff’s Honor Guard was ordered to stand watch over Sgt. Vaca day and night, and will continue to stand watch until his funeral. Sgt. Vaca was shot and killed in the line of duty on Monday (May 31), while pursuing a fleeing suspect in Yucca Valley. The suspect was also shot and killed during the pursuit.
