The Friends of the Yucca Valley Library will have many gently used best-selling books, videos and DVDs, records and magazines for sale during its spring book sale. Customers can also bid on rare, old, and just plain interesting items on the silent auction table. All proceeds from the book sale and auction table go to benefit the programs at the Yucca Valley Library. The book sale will be held April 16, from 3 to 6; April 17, from 11 to 6; April 18, from 10 to 5; and April 20, from 9 to 3. For more information, call the library at 760-228-5460.

The Friends of the Joshua Tree Library spring silent auction closes at noon on April 18. The silent auction features interesting, out-of-print or unusual items for which patrons may place written bids. The book sale begins with a Friends members-only sale on Thursday April 16 from 3 to 6 p.m., and opens to the general public 9 to 5 on Saturday April 18. Monday and Tuesday the 20th and 21st are also sale days, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The sale concludes on Wednesday, April 22, with a $2 a bag sale, from 9 to 5. Sale items include adult and children’s books, DVDs, books on tape, CDs, and more. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Joshua Tree Library.
