The Desert Institute and the Twentynine Palms Old Schoolhouse continue their partnership lecture series on Friday, November 13, with the virtual evening program, “Keys Desert Queen: A Visual and Historical Tour.”
Located within the borders of Joshua Tree National Park, the Desert Queen Ranch was the home of Bill and Frances Keys and now sits in an arrested state of decay, and only available by appointment. Once a favored site for Native American tribes, it became a cow camp and a mill site and then the Keys family ranch right through the 1960s.
