FRIDAY MORNING FIRE IN YUCCA VALLEY FOUND TO BE HUMAN CAUSED

A Friday morning apartment fire in Yucca Valley appears to have been human caused.

County Fire crews responded to a reported commercial structure fire in an apartment near Yucca Trail and Joshua Lane. Arriving firefighters found heavy smoke and fire showing from a vacant middle unit apartment. Crews were successful in knocking the fire down in approximately 20 minutes and kept the fire to one unit, saving 8 adjacent units from fire damage. There were no injuries to firefighters or citizens, Sheriff Deputies assisted with traffic control. An Investigator found that the vacant apartment was uninhabited and had no utilities. This is the second fire at the location, as one unit burned in March. Squatter and transients’ evidence was found at the scene and the Investigator concluded the fire appeared to be human caused.
