The 2018-2019 Second Friday Lecture Series continues this month with a focus on desert plant ecology. Reporter Heather Clisby has the details…

Curiously titled, “Desert Plant Ecology or Why Does The Desert Poke Me?”, this month’s Second Friday Lecture at the Old Schoolhouse Museum will try to demystify our desert landscape. Dr. Chris McDonald, the Inland and Desert Natural Resources Advisor, University of California Cooperative Extension, will speak on the adaptive ecology of desert plants and how they survive in such arid conditions.

Part of an ongoing series, this lecture will be held at the Old Schoolhouse Museum, 6760 National Park Drive, in Twentynine Palms, on Friday, April 12, at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $5 at the door, which opens at 6:15 p.m. Seating is limited, so arrive early as no standees are permitted.

The next scheduled lecture will be held on May 10.
