For this Friday’s Old Schoolhouse Lecture, Sean Milanovich will present his talk “The Treaty of Temecula and the American Invasion of Southern California.” The Treaty of Temecula is but one of 18 unratified treaties with California native tribes, which were left vulnerable to abuse and subjugation at the hands of white settlers and the policies of state lawmakers. This lecture, sponsored by the Desert Institute at Joshua Tree National Park and the Twentynine Palms Historical Society, will be held at the Old Schoolhouse Museum, 6760 National Park Drive, on Friday, March 9 at 7 p.m. in Twentynine Palms. This lecture is open to the public and costs $5 per person at the door.
