FREQUENT SHOPLIFTER ARRESTED IN YUCCA VALLEY, FOUND WITH DRUGS

A Desert Hot Springs man who is a known shoplifter was arrested in Yucca Valley Friday, October 2. Employees at the Yucca Valley Big Lots called deputies about 5:45 p.m. to say that Francisco Solorio, 43, was in the store and was a known shoplifter at the store and had been asked to leave. A deputy’s report states that Solorio was filling a shopping cart with items and trying to divert attention from his attempts to steal. When the deputy contacted Solorio, he gave them a false identity to conceal his status as a parolee at large from Riverside County. The deputy learned that Solorio had a no-bail warrant for his arrest. During a search, methamphetamine and heroin were found in Solorio’s possession. Francisco Solorio was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of narcotics, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, and released to Riverside County.
