In celebration of Cinco de Mayo, and even Seis and Siete de Mayo, Rediscover 29 will host Freedom Fiesta this weekend, May 6 and 7, in downtown Twentynine Palms at Freedom Plaza. Starting at 6:00 p.m., Friday night activities include live mariachi, folklorico dancing, food vendors and a craft beer garden. On Saturday, beginning at 4:00 p.m., artists C.J. Troxel and Al Marcano will be painting a mural and showing off their unique creative skills. Then at 6 p.m., there will be a free “Go Back to 2-9” concert featuring several bands followed by a silent disco. (There will be a small charge for the headphones.) Freedom Fiesta will take place at Freedom Plaza, 73551 Twentynine Palms Highway in Twentynine Palms.
