Sign-ups are still being taken for a youth theater workshop being offered at Theatre 29. Special correspondent Les Taylor has details…
Hey kids, you wanna be in a show but don’t know what this auditioning thing is all about? No problem, as Theatre 29 has announced a cool new youth theatre workshop designed to help budding actors learn the audition process. This three-day workshop will run from July 22 through the 24th at the theater on Sullivan Road in Twentynine Palms. Each day’s class runs for two hours, and there are two sessions per day, one for ages 6-12 from 12:30 to 2:30, the other for 13-17 year olds from 3 to 5. Topics covered include theatre history and vocabulary, cold line readings, music, dance and more. Other stage activities are also planned. Space is limited, so early sign-ups are encouraged. Parental permission and registration slips will be available at the theater box office during the run of “The Peril’s of Goldilocks” this month, or can be found at Theatre29.org, click on the “Directors” tab, then “Waivers.” Remember, the first step to stardom is getting a part and that begins with auditioning!
