Hi-Desert Medical Center Community Health Education Series continues in May with more free seminars. “Get the Facts about Osteoporosis” is next up on Wednesday, May 21 at 3 p.m. Get the latest on new treatments and the importance of screening. Next up in the series is called, “Understanding Depression” at noon “lunch and learn” session on Thursday, May 29. The stigma depression drives many to try and hide it, but to effectively treat depression, it is important to seek care from a licensed mental health professional and get a correct diagnosis and treatment plan. Join clinical psychologist, Ron Amos as he outlines the signs, symptoms and treatment for depression. Both seminars will be in the Helen Gray Education Center on the hospital campus in Joshua Tree.
