FREE PROGRAM AVAILABLE TO HELP OLDER ADULTS PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM FALLS

Each year, one out of every four older adults in the United States will suffer a fall, that’s one person every second of every day. Falls are the leading cause of injury and death among adults ages 65 and older, with millions of people affected by falls each year. News Director Andrew Dieleman says that a new home assessment program is now available for older adults in the Morongo Basin to help them avoid a fall…

The Dignity at Home Fall Prevention Program through Reach Out Morongo Basin will help lower or eliminate fall hazards in the homes of qualified Morongo Basin seniors and disabled persons. Individualized home assessments are used to evaluate factors in the home that help contribute to falls and provide modifications, repairs, and education on both fall prevention and assistive devices. The program is free for qualified individuals. For qualification details, call Reach Out Morongo Basin at 760-361-1410.
