FREE IMPROV WORKSHOP AT THEATRE 29 SATURDAY

Theatre 29’s resident improvisational comedy troupe, the “Bakers Dozen,” has another free workshop planned this weekend. Rebecca Havely has the details…
Improv workshops continue at Theatre 29 as “The Baker’s Dozen” gives potential new members an idea of the qualities sought in prospective troupe members. It’s also a great opportunity for those who just want to improve their on-stage proficiency. Improvisation, or improv, is a form of live theater in which the plot, characters and dialogue of a game, scene or story are made up in the moment. Often improvisers will take a suggestion from the audience or draw on some other source of inspiration to get started. There was a nice turn out last Saturday and another workshop is scheduled for this Saturday, January 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. It is open to all and it’s free. Just show up at Theatre 29 at 73637 Sullivan Road in Twentynine Palms.
The Baker’s Dozen live performances are rated PG-13 and are scheduled at Theatre 29 February 10, April 14, May 26, June 16, July 14, August 11, September 15, November 10, and December 29. Ticket prices are: general admission, $10; military and seniors are $7; and $5 for students with ID. Theatre 29 season ticket holders can attend one Improv show at no charge. For tickets visit theatre29.org or call the Theatre 29 Box Office at 760-361-4151.
