FREE HELP OFFERED WITH HEALTH INSURANCE IN TWENTYNINE PALMS WEDNESDAY

It’s Medicare open enrollment season. That means many of those on Medicare or newly eligible for the program will have questions about their coverage choices. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has this report about where to find some answers…
The Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program, or HICAP, will hold two Medicare Annual Enrollment Clinics at the Twentynine Palms Senior Center on Adobe Rd. The programs are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and aim to help senior and disabled residents understand Medicare and Medicare Advantage Plans, Medigap policies, the Affordable Care Act, plus a review of your medications and upcoming formulary changes. The first program is Wednesday October 31; the second is Tuesday, November 6. The Clinic will be held by appointment only, so individuals get personal attention. A program of The Council on Aging, HICAP counselors are state-registered staff and volunteers, trained to answer health insurance questions free of charge. Individuals interested in this event are urged to call HICAP at 909-256-8369 to schedule an appointment.
