Free health screenings are just a small part of what’s planned for the Health Fair taking place this Saturday at the Yucca Valley Community Center. Local vendors and fun activities for kids and teens will be set up alongside free health checks such as flu shots, COVID vaccinations, and HIV screenings. Personal health information and booths like “Ask a Doctor” are aimed to help inform the Morongo Basin on the range of free and assisted health services that are offered here in the community. This is the first event that the Morongo Basin Healthcare District has been able to put on since 2019, and Outreach Specialist Emily McNulty says that she hopes that people come away more informed about the different services they provide. Help navigating insurance, free non-emergency medical transport, and pediatric care are just a few of the additional health programs that are available to residents of the Morongo Basin – and she stressed that no one is ever turned away from receiving medical assistance. The Health Fair is taking place this Saturday, May 7th from 10:00AM to 2:00PM at the Yucca Valley Community Center off Highway 62, and it’s free.
