How about a free visit to Joshua Tree National Park? As a way to encourage visitation, the National Park Service has designated the following fee free days for the rest of 2013: September 28, for National Public Lands Day; and November 9-11, for Veterans Day weekend. At Joshua Tree National Park, on those dates, you will not have to pay the $15 per vehicle entrance price. Camping and reservation fees will still be collected as normal. Fee free days are a great opportunity to take advantage of our scenic hikes and views, enjoy a sunrise or sunset, and gaze up into the specto prepare accordingly with a backpack, water, sunscreen, hat, and snacks.
