Frank Luckino announces immediate resignation from Desert Hot Springs City Manager role

​​Frank Luckino, who served for many years as the City Manager for Twentynine Palms before taking on the role of City Manager for Desert Hot Springs, announced his retirement on Tuesday (March 4.)

Luckino worked for Twentynine Palms for eight and a half years, beginning in March of 2015. Luckino is credited with being instrumental in the revitalization of the Twentynine Palms Downtown area, serving during the creation, financing, and subsequent construction of Freedom Plaza, formerly “Project Phoenix.” In October of 2023 he announced that he would be working for Desert Hot Springs. 

A press release issued by the City of Desert Hot Springs on Tuesday said that Luckino announced his resignation effective immediately, and that the city expresses its deep appreciation for his contributions and leadership.

Doria Wilms was appointed interim City Manager.

She has served as Deputy City Manager for Desert Hot Springs since 2021.
