The four Rotary clubs of the Morongo Basin have partnered together for the first annual Morongo Basin Meals Food Drive on Valentine’s Day. The drive is to collect thousands of pounds of food for local area food banks and organizations to help feed our needy in the Morongo Basin and will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, February 14.
Donations can be dropped off before the event at locations throughout the basin, including the area Chamber of Commerce offices, Pacific Western Bank, Opus Bank, Realty Professionals, Joshua Springs Calvary Chapel, and area Water District offices.
Food items included in the local food banks’ wish lists include: canned tuna or chicken, mac and cheese, peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, noodles/pasta, pork and beans, beans, canned fruit, canned vegetables and other non-perishables foods.
