FOUR MORONGO BASIN BUSINESSES CITED IN UNDERAGED DRINKING DECOY OPERATION

A total of four businesses in the Morongo Basin were cited by the Sheriff’s department following an underage drinking decoy operation Thursday (June 17). According to Sheriff’s reports, deputies and Alcohol Beverage Control Agents sent an underaged decoy into 22 “off-sale liquor establishments” in both Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms from 4 to 9 p.m. in an attempt to purchase alcohol. Four businesses: two in Yucca Valley and Two in Twentynine Palms, sold alcohol to the decoy. All four locations were cited and will face criminal and administrative actions through the Alcoholic Beverage Control. The decoy operation came as a result of numerous complaints received by the Sheriff’s Department of businesses selling alcohol to minors.
