At least six men were arrested Friday when Sheriff’s deputies raided illegal marijuana grows in Landers, Yucca Valley, and Joshua Tree. Deputies from the Inland Regional Narcotics Enforcement Team pulled more than 2,000 marijuana plants, and seized more than 600 pounds of processed marijuana and four firearms at locations in the 59100 block of Rocky Acres Road, 59300 block of Reche Road, 1000 block of Chuckwalla, 60200 block of Meliz Road, and locations near Acoma Trail and Shannon Road, in Landers; the 5100 block of Border Avenue in Joshua Tree; and 3700 block of Lucerne Vista in Yucca Valley, beginning about 9 a.m. Friday. Arrested at the Rocky Acres Road location for investigation of marijuana cultivation were: Jose Maciel Leon, 22, of Reedly; Anthony Madrid, 20, of Sun Valley; and Elicio Solis, 37, of Landers. Arrested at the Border Avenue location: Phattham Thammathong, 54, of Riverside; arrested at Reche Road was Alfredo Torres-Morales, age 77, of Dinuba; and at the Lucerne Vista, address, Pasko Silon, 35, of Yucca Valley was arrested. They were all booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, cited, and released.
