FOUR INJURED, INCLUDING TWO TODDLERS, IN A TWENTYNINE PALMS CRASH SATURDAY

Four people were injured, including two toddlers, in a two-vehicle crash in Twentynine Palms Saturday. Sheriff investigators say that just before 2:30 p.m., a 58-year-old female driver of an Audi SUV pulled out from Canyon Road in Twentynine Palms onto westbound Highway 62, directly into the path of a Toyota traveling eastbound on the highway. The 34-year-old woman driving the Toyota, and her two passengers—a 2- and 3-year-old in the back seat—were flown to Loma Linda University Medical Center by helicopter. The children sustained major injuries in the crash; the woman in the car with them suffered unknown injuries. The woman in the Audi was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center. Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the crash to call Deputy Lorraine Pinedo at 760-366-4175.
