FOUR INJURED IN TWENTYNINE PALMS VEHICLE CRASH

Four people were injured in a Twentynine Palms crash that closed the highway for over an hour Wednesday afternoon. Just after 2 p.m., Paul Lacroix, 60, of Twentynine Palms, was stopped at the northbound stop sign on Morongo Road when he made a left turn onto westbound Highway 62 right in front of a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta being driven eastbound on the highway by Jamie Collinson, 34, of Los Angeles. Collinson’s Jetta came to rest on the south curb of the highway; Lacroix’s 1996 Nissan Pathfinder ended up in the #2 westbound lane of the highway. Collinson and his three passengers were taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs with complaints of pain. The highway was closed until about 3:30. The Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash; it does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
