FOUR CITED FOR BUYING ALCOHOL FOR MINORS

Four people were cited in Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms Friday, accused of purchasing alcohol for minors, and three others were arrested or cited on other charges. During a shoulder-tap sting operation, minors—under the supervision of Sheriff’s deputies—visited several liquor and convenience stores and asked strangers to buy alcohol or tobacco for them. Deputies made four arrests for buying alcohol for a minor in the 73700 block of 29 Palms Highway, and the 6000 block and 3600 block of Adobe Road, all in Twentynine Palms. In addition, a business at Two Mile Road and Adobe was cited for selling tobacco to a minor. In Yucca Valley, one man was cited for being in possession of alcohol and being drunk in public at the intersection of Kickapoo Trail and 29 Palms Highway, and another man was arrested for being drunk in public at Onaga Trail and Church Street. Those arrested were cited and released.
