Four Twentynine Palms residents were arrested Friday following a pursuit through the city. About 1:25 p.m., deputies learned that Brandon Koenig, 27, was in the Stater Brothers shopping center at Highway 62 and Encelia Avenue in Twentynine Palms. Koenig has a felony warrant for his arrest for vehicle theft from December, and for violating the terms of his post release community supervision. Deputies attempted a traffic stop on Koenig’s car, but Koenig refused to stop. Koenig led deputies on a pursuit through the streets of Twentynine Palms until he ditched his car and fled on foot near El Rey Avenue. Koenig ran through yards and hid in a house in the 72400 block of 29 Palms Highway. Deputies searched for Koenig, and eventually found him hiding in the house, along with Fabian Garza, 37, Michael Stewart, 26, and Ryann Yucknevale, 26. Garza, Stewart, and Yucknevale helped Koenig hide inside the house to avoid arrest. Brandon Koenig was arrested for investigation of felony evading, and for his arrest warrants. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $100,000. Fabian Garza, Michael Stewart, and Ryann Yucknevale were also arrested on suspicion of felony evading, and for being an accessory, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with their bail set at $100,000 each.
